Just finally got to the point in my new Enneagram book which tells me all about me.. things I never realised I did.. things so deeply personal to me that not even my partner knows about these things because I only had an inkling of what I was *really* doing.
It's quite a frightening and bewildering moment!

Re: Eureka! (+fear+bewilderment)
Wed, November 9, 2005 - 8:11 AMstar,
i know the feeling
of ennearevealing....
i share a quote with you from Robert Johnson:
"The persona is what we would like to be & how we wish to be seen by the world....the ego is what we are & know about consciously. The shadow is that part of us we fail to see or know"
seeing yourself more and more in the enneasystem, is shadow work, soul work.
"Any repair to our fractured world must start with individuals who have the insight & courage to own their own shadow."
--Robert Johnson
blessings on your work,
shant-om

Re: Eureka! (+fear+bewilderment)
Thu, November 10, 2005 - 3:44 PMI know the feeling, too. After the first time I read the description of a Four, I thought, "I don't want people to know that much about me!" It was at once eye-opening...and a little bit *too* revealing.
But now I revel in my specialness! Just a little jab at those here not lucky enough to be Fours. <grin> But I mean no offense! Some of my best friends are not Fours!

Re: Eureka! (+fear+bewilderment)
Mon, November 14, 2005 - 12:57 AMWhat I found amusing and depressing is that I didn't identify so much with the "healthy" characteristics of my type, but with the *negative* ones.
All the behaviours of a Type 9 in trouble described me to a T. Subsequent testing have shown me to be the very definition of a 9.
