Re: Books and Web Sites.
Wed, October 8, 2003 - 12:38 PMI've read something by Helen Palmer (don't remember the title) and "What's my type? ..." by K.V. Hurley and T.E. Dobson.
I did like both - this was my first contact with the Enneagram, but the second seems to have a bit more elaborated theory.

Mon, October 20, 2003 - 6:18 PMI've read Richard Riso & Helen Palmer. I liked Riso better because it seemed like Helen hated my type...but it's been a while and should read both again along with some other authors. -

Mon, October 20, 2003 - 7:57 PMI really like, and can recommend, The Wisdom of the Enneagram by Riso and Hudson. Many of my friends have also read it and have found a lot of good stuff in it. Their explanations of the various types and their motivations is very straightforward and understandable, and the authors offer suggestions for future growth for each of the Enneagram types. -

Re: Books and Web Sites.
Wed, October 22, 2003 - 4:41 PMOnce upon a time when I read Riso, I found I could accept and understand people's behavior (thinking I finally understood their motivations...) My Dad is an 8 who was suddenly really "understandable" when he'd previously been a total mystery to me. We get along much better now. -

Thu, October 23, 2003 - 1:52 AMWhat did I like most from the Dobson's book was the dynamcs of types - the safe and unsafe environements changes in types. -
