If you combine it with Christopher Vogel's book The Writers Journey then u've got a great recipe for a deeply characterised book and the same structure that Lucas used in Star Wars... But about fictional characters, here is a book that several people have recommended: Searle, Judith, The Literary Enneagram: Characters from the Inside Out, Metamorphous Press (2001). If there are some others out there who have read Ms. Searle's book, what did you think? I wonder about the quality of Tony Soprano's self reflection. I do it all the time when I watch The Sopranos (Is Tony a 3? Or an 8?). I realize it is an exercise in futility because we'll never really know. But, it's fun! Then I start to think about how deep and real you could make fictional characters if you utilized the Enneagram during the character development process. I wonder if successful screenwriters or novelists do this.
